Grade 5 Opinion Writing

Zoos:  The Pros and Cons
Mrs. Medugno's students have been practicing writing opinion pieces.  Their topic of focus was whether or not zoos should exist.  After choosing a side and supporting it with facts and ideas, students were further challenged to create a screencast that would persuade others of their opinion.  Check out their video below.

Grade 4 Figurative Language: Life is Good!

Students in Ms. Davis' fourth grade have been studying figurative language.  Students created stanzas using figurative language in conjunction with the Life is Good themes.  Here are two examples of stanzas merged together into metaphoric poems about compassion and openness.

Grade 6 Mannequin Challenge

Students in grade 6 were recently invited by the Spofford Pond Polar VorTechs video crew to take the Mannequin Challenge.  Video crew members rolled the tape while the entire student body worked together as a team to capture a moment called "Sixth Grade Lunch".
